Genesis 8:15–22 NIV84
15 Then God said to Noah, 16 “Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives. 17 Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you—the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground—so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number upon it.” 18 So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives. 19 All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds—everything that moves on the earth—came out of the ark, one kind after another. 20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. 21 The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. 22 “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”

1. Every problem has a purpose

Don’t let problems discourage you
Remember what James wrote,
James 1:2–4 NLT
2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
Rejoice in your trouble because God is working something in you and through you
Submit to God’s ways and you will learn the purpose of the problem

2. Come out of your protected place

The protected place is only temporary
Don’t make the temporary place your permanent residence
Authentic believers should not fear problems
Remember the Providence of God
God is guiding you through the problem
God will never leave you nor forsake you
Remember the protection of God
God has been protecting you even when you keep messing up
God is always for you
You are God’s masterpiece
You are fearfully and wonderfully made

3. Don’t repeat the past

Remember the Power of God
The problem that destroyed others couldn’t destroy you
Don’t let the problem pain a pretty picture of yesterday
Egypt is not a better place than the Promise Land
Everything behind you is dead
Time to move on
#MoveForward #KeepGoing

4. Don’t let the “New Start” giant keep you in yesterday

Don’t fear the new start
God did not give you a spirit of fear
2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
I imagine that one of the toughest things to do is start something new
A new stage of life (becoming a parent)
Remember the Provision of God
God has given everything you will need for the new stage
Swing and bring the “New Start” giant down
God is working everything out for you
Nothing can separate you from His love

5. After the problem, your primary action determines your posterity

Remember the Promises of God
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV84
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
If what you have is not enough for your need/success/future then its your seed
Noah realized that what he had was all he had in the world
Noah decided to use what he has as his seed
Don’t eat your seed
Your seed can feed your posterity
Your seed will bless your posterity
The “New Start” giant wants to scare you by telling you that what you have is all you’ll every have
God keeps His Promises
As long as the earth endures
We do not have anything to do with cold and heat, summer and winter, or day and night
God is keeping His Promises by continuing to provide for these three areas
Seedtime/sowing/planting and harvest/reaping/blessing like the others has two parts
The others, God provides both parts
In seedtime and harvest - God provides the harvest
Harvest is according to seed
He give seed to the sower
2 Corinthians 9:10 NIV84
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.
You have the most important part of your harvest - sowing seed
If what you have is all you have, then you know it’s not enough for your future plans
If what you have is not enough for your needs, then it’s your seed
